You are here
We need your help.
I’m going to be direct and honest, because we do not have time for anything else.
The impact of the coronavirus has been swift and merciless on local businesses, including ours. With an uncertain economy, many of those businesses are understandably careful with their remaining available funds. We, too, are a small business and the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant direct impact on The Tower.
As our advertisers — who are largely small local businesses you all know and frequent — are forced to cut back operating expenses, advertising is the first expense to be cut in most cases.
For 8 years, we have provided unmatched coverage of your hometown. We’ve done so with passion, integrity and joy. Our stories have informed you, they have challenged authority, they have made you smile, and they have made you cheer.
Most notably, though, our work has been about and for you.
Since the coronavirus began to spread in our communities, our team has written more than 90 stories on its impact on the North Shore. As you have witnessed, we have not cut back our dedicated coverage and we have taken the time to highlight our local heroes amid this crisis.
We are here to bring you the hard news and to remind you of the heart and soul of your community as we all get through this together. No other news source is bringing you the same depth of coverage and level of care.
We hope you enjoy our work and that it enriches your life and your community. If you believe The Lantern and local news are valuable, we now need your support more than ever. We are asking for your financial support to help us all weather this storm.
We have already suspended printing of The Lantern, but your local news is still being updated every single day and available to you on our website, GlenviewLanternDaily.com, with a subscription. For those of you who have already pledged your support with a subscription to The Lantern, we thank you.
As previously mentioned, our news is updated every day and you will also get access to our six other area news sites, newsletters and so much more.
In order for The Lantern to live on strong in your community, we ask that you and your neighbors please purchase subscriptions today.
