Glenview officials announced Monday that a Village employee tested positive for the coronavirus less than a week after last working at Village Hall.
Officials learned Saturday, March 28, that an employee was diagnosed with COVID-19, according to an email from Lynne Stiefel, communications manager for the Village of Glenview.
The employee was last at Village Hall for a brief period on Monday, March 23, the email states. The employee also worked inside the municipal center for three days the previous week but had no direct contact with the public, according to officials.
Officials said the areas where they worked were “thoroughly cleaned” after they learned of the employee’s potential exposure, adding Village Hall is being cleaned and disinfected daily.
Village Hall and the Glenview Police Department lobby remain open, but officials are discouraging visitors and using telecommuting to limit potential exposure to the virus, the email states.
